Cyriel Dessers accept deal in principle with Ipswich Town after undergoing medical with the club

Ipswich are set to secure Cyriel Dessers as their first summer acquisition after the striker passed his medical.

The tractor boys have agreed to pay roughly £4.5 million to capture Dessers from Rangers,

with reports indicating the 28-year-old will sign a four-year contract.

If there are no medical difficulties or any unexpected delays, he will be unveiled as an Ipswich player in the coming days.

Mail Sport learned in April that McKenna is targeting Dessers,

who represents Nigeria at the international level, to help construct a new-look attack.

Rangers initially demanded a £7 million fee for the ex-Feyenoord forward, but Ipswich had to be patient during discussions.

However, a breakthrough in talks last week has paved the way for Dessers to join other new EPL lads.
