Patson Daka was labelled the next Samuel Eto’o and characterised as a “goal machine” at RB Salzburg, when he scored 54 goals in 82 league games.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United were all said to be interested in signing him.

The path to a consistent first-team berth convinced him that Leicester was the place to be, thus he signed on for a cost of £23 million.

Since his league debut three years ago, he has not been considered a regular. Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho were already at the club,

making the battle for a starting slot all the more arduous. Patson Daka has scored 16 goals in 73 league games since joining.

His contract is for five years and expires at the end of June 2026. Currently, Daka and Tom Cannon are the only alternatives up front.

Jamie Vardy is scheduled to start talks on a new contract, Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to leave, Vardy should sign, and Daka might be sold.

He formerly played alongside Erling Haaland at RB Salzburg. Joining Leicester seemed like a good idea at the time,

but Brendan Rodgers, and subsequently Dean Smith and Enzo Maresca, were not completely convinced.

Daka has actually been a third option at times. It’s surprising to see him linked with a move to Arsenal again,

given his lack of improvement in that atmosphere. But, if performed in the right frame, anything is possible,

as Juselu just made the top stage at the age of 34, having previously played for Espanyol, Newcastle, and Stoke.

Daka’s time at Leicester could have been a fairytale, but he has not been as consistent as we would have liked.

We have seen the best of his performances as well as the worst, and we are not convinced he would shine in a top spot at Arsenal,

but he is a good footballer with a professional attitude who is undoubtedly eager to learn.

The fact that he was regarded as a prospective signing for Manchester City, Manchester United,

Liverpool, and Arsenal would likely serve as a wake-up call for Leicester,

since they have undoubtedly failed to build on his foundation at RB Salzburg.

Leicester would be seeking for a sum of £12 to £15 million to balance out the current value of his contract and, of course, to cash in on a significant fee.
