Odsonne Edouard has resorted to social media ahead of this weekend’s huge Player of the Year presentation at the Glasgow Hydro.
The Frenchman surprisingly accepted the chance to give an award at the event and will once again take a bow in front of the Celtic fans he previously entertained on the pitch.

The striker, affectionately known as ‘French Eddy’ by Celtic fans, was responsible for some key moments during the club’s four successive trebles. Signed under Brendan Rodgers during the Irishman’s first term in command, Edouard remains Celtic’s biggest transfer signing at £9 million from PSG.

Now at Crystal Palace, the forward will travel back up north to the club where he achieved so much success.

The Frenchman tweeted ahead of Sunday’s event: ‘Honored to be present with these icons’, quoting Celtic’s announcement that he, Neil Lennon, and Samaras would be presenting trophies at the ceremony.

Typically, the POTY awards are a closed-door affair, with only fans with the necessary contacts and privileges allowed to attend each year. However, it has been made available to the wider Celtic fan community. The club is bringing legends and current players together in a significant way.
