Lewis Ferguson’s name is not so much associated with Rangers as it haunts the Ibrox club.

The current Bologna midfielder is the son of former Ibrox heroes Derek Ferguson

and the nephew of Barry Ferguson, so there’s no mistake whose colour the Scotland international’s blood bleeds.

The player’s uncle, a bluenose from birth, has previously stated that Lewis Ferguson

would have ‘walked’ to Rangers if the club had shown genuine interest.
Ferguson, who was released by Rangers as a kid, shown all of his father and uncle’s fighting spirit in order to

battle back and create a very unique career in Scottish football.
When Bologna signed Ferguson from northeast rivals Aberdeen in 2022, after the Dons had secured the

player from Hamilton Academical, Rangers completely botched it.
A reputed £1.7 million fee has proven a bargain in Italy, and despite suffering a severe cruciate ligament

injury that could sideline him for the rest of 2024, a recent Serie A award demonstrates this.

Ferguson wins top Italian honor.

with Thiago Motta’s side, leading the Italians to a Champions League finish.
Ferguson’s all-action, box-to-box, completely committed midfield approach earned him a lot of praise,

and he scored six Serie A goals from the middle of the park this season.

ex-Italy midfielder Giacomo Bulgarelli, recognizes the 24-year-old’s achievements.

Rangers-linked star is out for’six to seven months’

“I underwent surgery three weeks ago. It’s been extremely taxing physically and mentally.

“I’ve never experienced an injury before.”But I’ve come to realize that it will be a long trek back, and I’m prepared to take it on.

I don’t want to set a time limit on it, but it will be at least six or seven months before I start training again.
