Officially Confirmed: Rangers set to announce the signing of Levski Sofia defender on a 4-year deal

El Marcador TV reports that Rangers are hoping to add Panama international Jose Cordoba

this summer in order to strengthen their defense.

The news source stated on their official X account on May 8 that Philippe Clement’s team

has shown interest in the 22-year-old Levski Sofia player,

who is expected to fetch a price of approximately €3 million (£2.5 million).

While clubs in France and Turkey are also interested,

journalist Jose Miguel Dominguez claims that Rangers’ involvement in Europe plays a

significant role in the process and may facilitate their pursuit of the player

who was named the “best defender in his league” for the current campaign.

The success of Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen’s transfer approach

The transfer strategy at Ibrox was said to be changing in the next windows as they seek other regions,

with South America being hailed as a target area, in the January transfer window.

Oscar Cortes and Mohammed Diomande, who were both a part of that strategy and

have performed admirably in their brief tenure at the club,

could only be advantageous if Cordoba were to sign and have a similar trajectory.
