Bruno Lage has been fired as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to reports, Lage was told on Sunday that he would be departing the team due to a bad run of play that has resulted in them winning only one game this season.

Lage, 46, became a member of Wolves in June 2021 following the mutually agreed-upon departure of his predecessor, Nuno Espirito Santo.

Consequently, what happened? A day after his team’s 2-0 loss to West Ham,

the Portuguese coach was fired. In fact, under Lage, Wolves have only triumphed in one of their previous fifteen premier league games.

Lage has ultimately suffered for Wolves’ inconsistent play.

HOW HAVE THEY SPOKEN? The team’s social media accounts have an official statement saying, ”

Wolves has parted ways with head coach Bruno Lage.

” We wish Bruno and his coaching staff all the best in the future and appreciate their efforts throughout their tenure at the club.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Lage took over as manager of the Molineux club in June 2021 after Nuno Espirito Santo was fired.

In his first season in command, he led Wolves to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League despite his team’s inability to win any of their previous seven games.

Moreover, Wolves’ terrible start to the season has continued into this one,

as they have just won one game, placing them third from the bottom of the standings.
