CONFIRMED- De zerbi finally accepts to sign with AC Milan, ahead of summer as personal terms have been met

According to German Denis, an ex-Napoli and Atalanta striker, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi turned down the opportunity to join Serie A powerhouse Inter last summer because of his affection for city rivals AC Milan.

De Zerbi, who has a deal with Brighton that expires in June 2026, has been connected to a number of roles while he plays at the Amex Stadium. A number of teams, including AC Milan and Liverpool, Man United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Man Utd, have apparently been keeping an eye on his position.

While playing some of the most visually appealing football in the division, De Zerbi led Brighton to a record-breaking sixth place in the Premier League and Europa League qualification last season. It is reported to have spurred Inter, who were thinking about cutting ties with Simone Inzaghi at the time, to pursue De Zerbi.

Because of his ties to the team’s biggest opponents, the Brighton manager is thought to have declined the offer. The manager had previously played for AC Milan.

Since Roberto De Zerbi is a Milan supporter, I can say with certainty that he turned down Inter. In an interview with Sportitalia (via Pianeta Milan), Denis stated that when Simone Inzaghi was a little bit in the balance last year.

De Zerbi’s future is still up in the air, and his remarks at a recent fans’ forum did little to dispel rumors. “I’m not working for a career alone,” the 44-year-old declared. “I’m working hard to be happy when I wake up in the morning, and if Brighton can make me happy in the future, then no team can take me.”

“But I’ll change because I’m not giving it my all if I’m not happy or don’t feel motivated to work like I did the previous two seasons.”

Paul Barber, the deputy chairman and chief executive of Brighton, made light of the fact that he gives De Zerbi “coffee and croissants” every morning in an effort to maintain his manager’s satisfaction.
