That’s according to Mark Connolly, an Enniskillen Town coach who trained Kieran McKenna,

the head coach of Ipswich Town, throughout his adolescent years.

Under the 37-year-old County Fermanagh native’s leadership, Ipswich will return to the Premier League just 15 months after exiting League One.

They triumphed 2-0 over Huddersfield on Saturday at Portman Road.

Mr. Connolly stated that “Kieran was different because he had talent – but he was also very driven”.

He was a terrific team player, highly meticulous, and endowed with a little extra something.

“When the other kids were having a wee bit of fun – Kieran was doing extra work – training, doing sit-ups at the side of the pitch – and extra runs after games and things,” he said.

His will to succeed and his tunnel vision were clearly visible.”

Mark said, “The kids at Enniskillen Town now feel a genuine connection to Ipswich.”

Ten-year-old Noah, an Enniskillen Town player, concurs with that.

“I play centre mid and I’ve learned from watching the Ipswich team about passing fast and movement,” Noah said.

After an injury ended his playing career at Tottenham Hotspur in his early 20s, McKenna went into coaching.

After playing youth football for Northern Ireland, he became a coach at Manchester United and Spurs before taking the helm at Ipswich as manager in 2021.

It’s great to see someone from here doing so well.

says nine-year-old Murray, who plays right back for Enniskillen Town. He views McKenna as a “great manager” and says.

“I’ve learned from him that you need to pass. He’s doing everything right.

Pat Harty, an Ipswich Town fan from Drogheda, who now travels to Fermanagh to watch The Tractor Boys.

remarks that it’s been a long time since the team has been in the Premiership

“What’s even more delightful about this is that it’s an Irishman who’s brought us back to the Premiership Mr. Harty remarked.

“Kieran did a really outstanding job. Being an Ipswich supporter has been a lonely journeybut in the last few weeks, a lot of jerseys have started to appear.

At this point, everyone will be searching for Kieran McKenna.

Now that we are winning, everyone wants to know who supports Ipswich.

The more people who support us, the better.
