Leicester City set to sign Gabriel Pereira who was the clubs top priority in the january transfer window

Leicester City set to sign Gabriel Pereira who was the clubs top priority in the january transfer window.

According to reports, Leicester City may rekindle their interest in Gabriel Pereira

as Enzo Maresca looks to

enhance his team in preparation for the Premier League’s return the following season.

Before rejoining England’s elite, the Foxes have an intriguing summer transfer window as the club’s transfer

market powers become more apparent. While Financial Fair Play (FFP) will be a looming concern, Maresca’s

concerns regarding recruitment must be addressed in order to maintain Maresca’s satisfaction.

As a result, wise moves will be essential, and City is said to be looking to Portugal once more in order to add

their first player of the summer transfer window.

The East Midlands club is prioritizing Gil Vicente center half Pereira, according to Tutto Mercato Web, an

Italian source. They describe how Maresca approached the youngster in January, but that club turned down a

loan-to-buy offer contingent on City winning promotion since they were battling for safety in Liga Portugal.

Vicente will allegedly request €7 million to finalize a deal for the Brazilian, as they will now have more leeway

for departures in the summer now that their status has been confirmed. But in only a few months, Benfica,

Braga, Lyon, and Udinese are all said to be interested in Leicester, putting them in a possible battle.

Even though this signing is not part of the final plan, Pereira, who is 24 years old and has made 112 appearances

for the club, has been recognized for his skills with the ball at both feet, which have allowed him to achieve an

average pass completion per 90 minutes of 85.1 percent, with an average progressive distance of 365.6 yards.

Ultimately, central defense is an area that simply must be addressed this summer, even if Jannik Vestergaard’s

contract is due to expire, Callum Doyle’s 2023/24 loan is set to expire, and Harry Souttar may be given a way

out of the club, so there will be gaps to be filled.
