A few weeks ago, the Chicago Bulls concluded yet another forgettable season when they were defeated by the Miami Heat in the NBA play-in round. It was only right that the season would conclude in a dismal way because it had been a bad one. The Bulls had a strong start in Miami, going up 11-6 early on with a few three-pointers, but from that point on, it was all Heat. With a 112-91 victory, Miami advanced to the postseason, where they will face the Boston Celtics.

The Bulls led 11–6 at the half, but gave up a big run and lost by 20 points in the second quarter. It was actually quite good work by the Bulls to weather the storm when they fell behind by 20 points. After Chicago rallied and cut the lead to seven points in the third quarter, the Heat regained momentum and won handily.

The Bulls had a 39-43 record at the end of the regular season. In their first play-in tournament game, they did manage to defeat the Atlanta Hawks, but they were once again eliminated from the postseason. Chicago could have advanced to the playoffs with only one more win if they had prevailed at Miami on Friday night, but they were unable to complete the task.

So, the Bulls will play for another season. Things went rather well after they started 5-14, but they are still far from appeasing this demanding fan base. Making it this far was an accomplishment, as nobody really thought this club would make it to the postseason in the early going, but the fan base is demanding more. The Bulls will receive a lottery place in the NBA Draft following yet another lackluster campaign, giving them the chance to select one of the top young players in the league. These are some players they ought to be considering.

Dalton Knecht, Tennessee

After moving from Northern Colorado to Tennessee, Dalton Knecht emerged as one of the top players in college basketball for the 2017–18 campaign. Without him, the Volunteers would not have had such a successful season. He was a significant pickup for them.

Dalton Knecht is a natural scorer who can take over a game when necessary, thus whichever team selects him will be extremely delighted with their selection. He scored more than 30 points seven times last year, averaging 21.7 points per game. He has the appearance of an NBA star.

Donovan Clingan, UConn

Donovan Clingan is another player the Bulls could like to target. After winning two consecutive national titles, the standout big man from UConn wants to continue winning in the league. Though he isn’t as much of a typical center as a guy like Zach Edey, for instance, some believe he is a dangerous pick. For this reason, even though Edey is the best player in college basketball, his projection is far lower than Clingan’s. Clingan is a fascinating possibility since he not only possesses the stature but also the athleticism to succeed in the league.

Donovan Clingan might be a good pick for the Bulls this year because they could use more size.

Devon Carter, Providence

Devin Carter would be an excellent choice for the Bulls if they decide to select a point guard with their first pick, as many people believe they would. Carter is a versatile player who can score points—he averaged over 19 points each game. Despite being just 6’3″, he averaged over eight RPG. Carter also makes an appearance when playing defense. In the league, he will be entertaining to watch.
