Exclusive: Why Exit-bound Arsenal attacker will end up at Ipswich Town in a hugely-ambitious move

Ipswich Town have earned back-to-back promotions to the Premier League after nearly 24 years,

and they have ambitious intentions for the transfer window.

Kieran McKenna has overseen the Tractor Boys’ progress,

and the club intends to support their manager with some new acquisitions as they seek to remain in the top flight.

TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal that Eddie Nketiah, an Arsenal striker, is one of Ipswich’s big objectives.

As we revealed in March, the Gunners are eager to trade the 24-year-old for the right price and have notified him that he is free to join another team.

We understand that Nketiah is considering leaving the Emirates for more game time.

Mikel Arteta has a good relationship with Nketiah, but with the manager looking to bring in a new star striker this summer,

he knows he won’t be able to give him consistent minutes.

A number of Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on the Arsenal player,

and Ipswich has now entered the fight for his signing.

The Ipswich move for Nketiah is a hint of things to come.

According to TEAMtalk insiders, Ipswich’s bold bid to recruit Nketiah foreshadows what is to come throughout their summer window.

They intend to do everything they can to stay in the Premier League and make their imprint on the division and bringing in Nketiah would be a huge statement of intent.

Crystal Palace has always admired Nketiah and is closely following him.

They believe the forward’s willingness to stay in London provides them an advantage,

and their performance under new manager Oliver Glasner has also been impressive.

The 24-year-old’s ultimate goal is to stay at Arsenal and establish himself as the number nine.

However, he has unable to break into the first squad and has spent the last few years on the outside.

Despite some decent performances last season, it is evident that he is not the right man for Arteta,

and his future may be elsewhere. He has been with Arsenal since 2015, when the club signed him from Chelsea’s academy.

Nketiah has made just ten Premier League starts this season, coming off the bench 17 times and scoring five goals.
