Simon Adingra, the attacker, has advanced significantly this season, according to Brighton captain Lewis Dunk.

With six goals and one assist from 28 games in his Premier League debut, 22-year-old Adingra has made an

impression.

The Ivory Coast AFCON champion played a great season on loan in Belgium with Union SG after joining

Brighton for over £6 million in July 2022 from Danish team Nordsjaelland.

Due to injuries to Solly March, Kaoru Mitoma, and Julio Enciso this season, Adingra may have played more

than he was supposed to, but the winger has seized his chances.

He was at the peak of his game against Aston Villa, terrorizing the visiting team’s defense—especially that of

England international Ezri Konsa—with his talent, quickness, and direct attacking approach.

In fact, Adingra’s deft move in the 87th minute forced Konsa to foul, giving Brighton a penalty that resulted in

Joao Pedro‘s winning goal.

Following their first victory in seven games, captain Dunk remarked, “He has been massive.” Although he is still

a young player with plenty to learn, you can see his development from the beginning of the season to the

present. He will continue to improve and grow.

“What a player we have, and you would take it if he could play that well every week. Today, the two lads outside

and the three boys in front worked extremely hard. That’s what it takes to win Premier League games.

Adingra continued, “I am in a good place and my captain and squad support me, so that has helped me a lot.

Together, we remain resilient as a powerful team.

Brighton, currently ranked eleventh, has three games remaining in the season. This Saturday, they take on

Newcastle at St. James’ Park. Next, on May 15, Albion will host Chelsea at the Amex, and on May 19, they will

play Man United at home.
