Officially Confirmed: Mauricio Pochettino have announced the departure Omari Hutchinson to Ipswich Town on a Permanent basis

Omari Hutchinson, a Chelsea trainee, has declared that he hopes to stay with Ipswich Town after their promotion to the Premier League next season.

Hutchinson joined the Tractor Boys on a season-long loan last summer and quickly established himself as an important member of the squad that propelled Ipswich back to the top division for the first time in 20 years.

The 20-year-old scored the second goal in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield, securing second place and automatic promotion.

Hutchinson wants Ipswich to stay

Chelsea’s loan success this season has been varied, but Hutchinson’s has been by far the most successful.

The winger won the Ipswich Player of the Month award three times and was voted Championship Player of the Month in February.

Hutchinson appeared in 44 Championship games, scoring 10 goals and assisting six times,

in what was a fantastic season for his growth as a player.

With his loan period over, he will return to Chelsea,

where he has one year left on the contract he signed after arriving on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2022.

It would be surprising if the Blues did not offer Hutchinson new terms following his impressive loan spell,

and after securing promotion, he was queried about his future, implying that he wanted to stay at Portman Road.

“I hope to stay with Ipswich next season; we’ll see what my agent and manager say,” he told Sky Sports.

“It’s the best loan I could have ever imagined!”

It makes sense for the kid to stay at Ipswich in a familiar environment where he is likely to play regular Premier League games,

which is the next step in his career.

Hutchinson has made two appearances for Chelsea and will undoubtedly seek to add to that number in the future years;

he certainly has the skill to do so; it remains to be seen whether the opportunity will arise at Chelsea.
