Murillo is set to move to Barcelona as club finalizes transfer agreements

Even if Nottingham Forest stay up this season, sources tell Football Insider that they may have to compete with other clubs to keep defender Murillo.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that there is always a need for left-footed centre-backs because there aren’t many decent ones available.

The Brazilian has impressed since joining the City Ground for £15 million from Corinthians last summer, and his deal is due to continue until 2028.

Last month, Football Insider alleged that the Reds were hoping for a “huge” price to permit Murillo’s exit this summer.

Murillo could be sold by Nottingham Forest.

Murillo is one of the players who Forest may struggle to keep given their season-long promise.

While the Reds are narrowly above the relegation zone, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, and Chris Wood have all delivered good performances.

Murillo is expected to garner the greatest attention, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, and PSG all keeping an eye on his status.

Since joining Forest in the Premier League, the Brazilian has averaged 1.5 tackles, 4.8 ball recoveries, and completed 58% of his dribbles.

If the club is relegated this season, he will most likely be unable to stay at the City Ground, placing additional pressure on Nuno Espirito Santo to keep them up in the coming weeks.
