The winger signed a short-term contract at The Valley after being signed by Charlton in March.

In doing so, he was reunited with Addicks’ manager Nathan Jones, with whom he had previously worked at Luton Town.

In addition, it was the 33-year-old’s first time back in England;

he had been working for Levadiakos in Greece.

However, LuaLua has been given permission to leave after making just a few appearances off the bench.

Alongside him has gone forward Connor Wickham, who Jones had also signed to a short-term contract.

Diallang Jaiyesimi, Richard Chin, and Michael Hector will all leave when their contracts expire this summer.

LuaLua began his professional career with Newcastle United,

and he initially relocated to South Yorkshire after leaving the Magpies.
