Chelsea has officially given Sam Jewell the green light to begin his new post as their new head of recruitment ahead of the summer transfer window. The 34-year-old has been on gardening leave since taking a position at Stamford Bridge following his impressive performance at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Jewell was slated to begin work in November, but it has since been announced that he will start in the summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the former head of recruitment at Brighton, he will begin his new post at Chelsea when the season ends.

In his Daily Briefing, he stated, “The green light has arrived for former Brighton head of recruitment Sam Jewell to begin his new job at Chelsea.”

“Jewell was on gardening leave, but everyone has agreed to start work on the summer window. He’ll have a leadership position in a multi-club endeavor to find fresh players.”

Todd Boehly and Mauricio Pochettino expect the forthcoming summer transfer window to be significant. After a season of inconsistency, the Blues have kept their European chances alive in recent weeks, bolstered by a 5-0 victory over West Ham.
