Potential Chiefs Free Agent WR Target Signs With AFC Rival

Since Odell Beckham Jr. inked a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, the Chiefs no longer have a viable

option for a free agent wide receiver.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice’s situation and their historical ties to Beckham, Kansas City

may be looking to add a receiver. Still, he’ll now be a part of a packed bunch in Miami that also includes Tyreek

Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Though I can understand why the Chiefs didn’t make a comparable offer, I don’t think this qualifies as an

overpay like the Chargers did for DJ Chark or as a desperation move as the Bills did when they signed Chase

Claypool.

WR Odell Beckham Jr. Signs With The Dolphins, Rumored

In 14 games in 2023, Beckham grabbed just 35 of 64 targets for 565 yards and three touchdowns,

but he looked good when he was given the chance. The Dolphins made a smart choice in selecting Hill,

considering his injury history, and Waddle’s.

The former Giants great will not be expected to play a significant part in Miami, but he does battle to remain

healthy. Though it’s a positive start, the Dolphins won’t be considered serious contenders until they can

demonstrate that Tua Tagovailoa can be a successful quarterback in the cold.

There aren’t many wide receivers on the market right now. It would be worth considering somebody like Tyler

Boyd or Zay Jones, as Mecole Hardman is now without a team. I’d be shocked if Kansas City didn’t add a

seasoned wideout to help cover the vacuum if Rice is given a protracted ban.

The market will only shrink with time, but we’ll keep you informed of any developments as we observe what

happens in the future.
