Forest could find out whether or not their points deduction appeal was successful before the end of this week.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke agreed it would be “huge” for Forest if they regained any of the four deducted points in their fight against relegation this season.

The appeal hearing took place on April 24, but there has been no indication of whether the club was successful.

O’Rourke stated that the ruling must be released as soon as possible to safeguard the league’s credibility,

and Forest is hopeful that they will receive some points back.

After the hearing, Nottingham Forest could receive one point back.

Forest will be keen to learn their fate, since any points returned at this time would be greatly appreciated.

Back in March, the team received a four-point deduction for breaking Premier League spending restrictions.

Everton has also been docked eight points this season for violating financial fair play regulations,

although they have since secured their spot in the top division following a turnaround in form.

That is not the case for Forest, who remain in the midst of the relegation struggle,

with O’Rourke warning that the fight for safety will go down to the wire.
