Newly Emerged Details About Nottingham Forest Points Deduction Appeal
By the end of this week, Nottingham Forest could receive word on the outcome of their appeal on the deduction
of points.
Senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke acknowledged on the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside
Track podcast that it would be “huge” for Forest to recover any of the four points that were taken away from
them in their attempt to avoid relegation this season.
The appeal hearing was held on April 24; however, there has been no word as of yet regarding the club’s
success.
O’Rourke said that the decision needs to be made public as quickly as possible in order to preserve the league’s
credibility, and Forest is hopeful that they will regain some ground.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s team is currently one point behind Luton Town, who are in third place in the fight to stay
in the top flight, and they are hovering just above the relegation zone.
After listening, Nottingham Forest might get one point back.
Forest will be anxious to find out what will happen to them because they would appreciate any return of points at this point.
Back in March, the team received a four-point deduction for going against the Premier League’s spending
regulations.
Everton has also lost eight points this season due to their violation of the financial fair play regulations,
but their recent improvement in form has allowed them to guarantee their spot in the top division.
This isn’t the case with Forest, though, as they are still smack dab in the midst of the relegation struggle.
According to O’Rourke, the battle for survival will likely go right down to the wire.
It looks like their points deduction story may finally have an ending in the next few days, which should relieve
some of the players’ stress as the season approaches its last few weeks.
