Earlier in the season, McKenna, 37, was discussed in relation to the Crystal Palace position;

more recently, he has been connected to West Ham and Brighton.

“No, I love it here, it’s a fantastic club, I’m so proud to be the manager of this football club and

I’ve worked so hard at it every day, so I give so much of myself and [so have] the people around

me for the last couple of years,” McKenna responded when asked about possible interest from

other clubs and whether his job at Town was finished. I’m simply trying to appreciate the ride

so much.

“To be honest, that kind of rumours has been there for the past two years. I’ve been faithful to

the team throughout that time, and I’m incredibly happy that I persevered and accomplished

what we have. The football team has some significant and thrilling developments ahead of them.

Omari Hutchinson, Jeremy Sarmiento, and Kieffer Moore—all loanees—have all contributed significantly this season.

Hutchinson, who scored his eleventh goal of the season in this afternoon’s game, has previously

stated that he wouldn’t rule out returning to Portman Road on loan the following season, and Sarmiento’s Brighton loan is rumoured to have an extension clause.

McKenna responded, “It’s a special group, for sure,” when asked if he would have like to keep the

loan players with the team for the upcoming campaign.

“Last year, we were able to maintain the group’s cohesiveness and bring in someone like George

Hirst on loan, who has since advanced.”
