Leeds United’s 4-0 loss against QPR this weekend appears to have eliminated any chance of

them earning automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites need to beat Southampton at Elland Road on Saturday in

order to go back into second place in the Championship table. Currently, they are three points behind Ipswich Town,

who they need to lose to against Huddersfield.

If that doesn’t work out, Daniel Farke’s club will enter the play-offs as the third-place team,

where they will currently play West Bromwich Albion over two legs in order to compete for a spot in the championship game at Wembley.

The team from Yorkshire may investigate what went wrong in the last

several weeks to prevent them from earning automatic promotion ahead of Ipswich and Leicester,

and they may identify mistakes made on both ends of the field.

With 14 goals from 25.81 xG between them,

Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter have underachieved in the Championship this season by a collective 11.81 points.

But Leeds might also take a close look at their issues in goal and try to find someone to replace Illan Meslier,

since there seems to be work being done on a potential new number one.
