Celtic, Newcastle united and Bayern munich facing potential champion league ban

Following their elimination from the promotion play-offs, English National League team Barnet has released former Wellington Phoenix forward Gary Hooper.

After a brief stint at Gulf United, a club in the United Arab Emirates under the management of his former Phoenix colleague Steven Taylor,

Hooper (36) joined London’s Barnet in October 2023.

Barnet confirmed his departure along with that of five other first team players following their defeat against Solihull

Moors in the play-off series semifinals, which determined promotion to English Football League Two.

Gary Hooper departs from London club Barnet in the main shot.

Hooper made 36 appearances and scored 13 goals in the A-League during his two stints with the Phoenix. Midway through a two-year deal, in March 2022, he left the Phoenix.

With over 600 career appearances under his belt, the former Norwich City and Celtic striker holds the unique distinction of being

the only player to have goals in the Scottish Premier League, English Premier League, Championship,

League One, League Two, FA Cup, Football League Trophy, FA Trophy, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Scottish Cup, and Scottish League Cup.

After playing for Sheffield Wednesday for three years, Hooper left the UK in 2019.

He has since played in Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand.

However, a week of European semifinals provides an example of how De Zerbi’s situation has deteriorated.

It appeared that he would play these kinds of games the following season;

the only question was whether he would play for Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona,

or another team. Maybe it would have been a different matchup for Brighton this year.
