Kelechi Iheanacho is wanted by Aston Villa after Leicester rejected their offer.

According to sources that spoke to Football Insider, Kelechi Iheanacho is wanted by Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.

After signing Youri Tielemans on a free transfer from the Foxes last summer, Villa is hoping to recruit another free agent from Leicester City.

The 27-year-old Iheanacho is anticipated to depart King Power Stadium this summer. He turned down a contract extension at his present team.

Villa are eager to add a forward to supplement star striker Ollie Watkins, who is presently being covered by Jhon Duran.

Iheanacho’s season at Leicester has been frustrating. In 25 games across all competitions, the forward has scored six goals.

Five of those goals have come from the Championship, which the Foxes won this season in order to secure their return to the Premier League.

After Leeds United’s 4-0 loss to QPR at the end of last month, which guaranteed promotion, Leicester defeated Preston North End 3-0 on Monday, April 29, to win the league title.

Since the beginning of the year, Iheanacho has hardly played for Enzo Maresca. He missed multiple games because he represented Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Following their Premier League relegation, the Foxes lost Tielemans to Aston Villa in the summer. After a sluggish start at Villa Park, the midfielder is now getting close to making his 50th game under Unai Emery.
