JUST IN : While West Ham United continues to seek for a manager, Jose Mourinho comments out

Despite rumors that the Sporting CP manager is already employed by a major team, Jose Mourinho believes Ruben Amorim can flourish in any league.

The famous manager clarified that Amorim would make the final decision and that it will be up to any interested clubs to persuade him to join them.

He also gave the manager high marks for his countryman’s qualifications and expressed his respect for him as a person and coach.

When questioned about Amorim’s connections to West Ham and other English teams, Mourinho said, “It’s also a question I shouldn’t answer, what can I tell you?” in an interview with Maisfutebol on May 1

“As a coach and as a person, I like him. He appears to meet the requirements to train at any club and in any league, in my opinion.

However, he plays for a major team and is in a strong league. He will make the final decision, and the clubs who want or don’t want him will have to persuade him using a variety of arguments.

In addition to West Ham, Amorim has been connected to the Liverpool opening and

a potential Chelsea position in the event that Mauricio Pochettino leaves;

a summertime relocation to England is highly likely.

The owner of Sporting CP and David Sullivan had a meeting at the latter’s house to discuss

the potential appointment. However, rumors have it that the meeting

did not go well because of differences of opinion over Amorim’s expertise and the club’s project.

For a brief while, Mourinho himself was connected to the London Stadium job,

with Frank McAvennie telling West Ham Zone that his hiring would allay concerns about Moyes’ style of play.
