Mourinho has replied to reports linking his fellow Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim with West Ham and Chelsea.

The Ruben Amorim affair took a peculiar turn Wednesday, involving West Ham and London rivals Chelsea.

Speculation has circulated that both West Ham and Chelsea may be searching for new managers shortly.

More so in east London, where David Moyes is largely anticipated to leave after his contract expires this summer.

However, there have been persistent whispers that Mauricio Pochettino may follow Moyes into the jobless queue in the coming weeks.

Last week, West Ham fans were ecstatic when Sporting manager Amorim was spotted boarding an aircraft for London,

where he is alleged to have met with majority owner David Sullivan.

Despite allegations that the meetings did not go well, Hammers fans remain confident that he will succeed Moyes.

Particularly after Amorim provided no guarantees about his future during a contrite press conference on Saturday.

In that conference, he only stated that the timing of his meeting with West Ham was regrettable, rather than the talks themselves.

The Hammers’ hopes were boosted further yesterday when a Sky Sports writer made an interesting new revelation concerning West Ham and Amorim.

West Ham and Chelsea are linked with Amorim.

On the same day, Chelsea was forced to deny bizarre reports that they had paid for Amorim’s flight to speak with West Ham.

The first speculation was that the Blues wanted to undertake secret talks with the 39-year-old about replacing Pochettino.

Still with us?

Amorim’s potential move to West Ham sparked uproar in Portugal.

The belief was that the Hammers are an inferior club and that he should only leave for an elite team. Especially given that Sporting will compete in the Champions League next season.

Others, however, saw it as a prudent first step into a major European league for Amorim and his distinct style of play.

In contrast, a club like Chelsea would be under more pressure to produce results quickly.

Now, one expert on the Premier League and Chelsea has spoken up.

Mourinho responds to the Amorim links.

Jose Mourinho has replied to reports linking Amorim to West Ham and Chelsea.

Ironically, Mourinho has also been connected to the West Ham position. There has even been discussion of a third term at Stamford Bridge.

Amorim faces a major decision over his future this summer, with reports suggesting he is anxious to get a Premier League job.

If it is true, then West Ham and Chelsea may be the only gigs in town after Liverpool slammed the door on him by moving for Arne Slot.

Other potential suitors Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also been ruled out, with Xavi remaining at the Camp Nou and Ralf Rangnick taking over in Germany.

Mourinho, on the other hand, thinks he will be prepared for whatever level of team Amorim chooses.
“He’ll succeed at any club, in any league.”

Mourinho told A Bola that Amorim could excel at any team in any league.

When asked about Amorim and his links to West Ham and Chelsea, Mourinho replied, “I like him as a person and coach.”

“I believe he meets the requirements to train in any league and team.

“But he’s in a good league with a big club.”

“It is your decision  him and the clubs whether or not they want him. What is clear is that I like the person and the coach.”

Last week, Mourinho was quizzed about his future while he was not working.

The journalist conducting the interview for a national newspaper also mentioned that he would be interested in managing West Ham United next season.

The trouble is, a source close to Hammers manager Sullivan has stated that this is entirely out of the question.
