Chelsea vs Tottenham Has been postponed as Awful Ange Postecoglou Sacked
This evening, Mauricio Pochettino’s team will host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford
Bridge in one of the most eagerly awaited Premier League games of the season.
The first of two London derbies at the Bridge in rapid succession kicks off at 7.30 p.m.
This is our first league game at home since Everton was destroyed 6-0.
For Chelsea to have a better chance of finishing in Europe in the top division,
they need to gain points. The same holds true for West Ham United, tonight’s opponents,
who travel to west London on Sunday. Neither will be meaningless, post-season matches.
The Blues defeated Spurs 4-1 when the teams met earlier in the season in north London.
In that match, two Tottenham players were sent off, and Nicolas Jackson scored a hat-trick in the second half.
In our last 38 games versus the Lilywhites in all competitions,
we have won 24 of them. Only one of those games—when Pochettino was in the opposing dugout—saw Chelsea lose;
the other thirteen finished in draws.
As a matter of fact, no side in the division has scored more goals (114) against the north
Londoners in the Premier League than the Blues (34) who have defeated them in the league.
Chelsea has benefited from having Stamford Bridge as their home,
as they have won 19 of their last 24 games. The only team doing better is Manchester City (20 points).
With a victory today, we will tie the club record set by
Manchester City against the opposition and achieve our tenth Premier League “double” versus Tottenham (15th overall).
