Bruno Guimaraes agrees to sign with PSG as Edu receives true transfer proof

According to ESPN, the French giants have identified the Brazilian midfielder as their top target for the January transfer window, but signing him will be difficult. The 26-year-old is one of Newcastle’s most prized players and has agreed to a new contract until 2028. PSG would have to match Newcastle’s release clause in the new agreement, which is said to be worth over £100 million.

Another obstacle that could jeopardize PSG’s chances of closing a transaction is the rivalry between the team’s Qatari owners and the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, which acquired Newcastle in 2021. However, ties between the two countries are thought to have improved since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

However, PSG’s friendship with Bruno Guimaraes’ agent, Giuliano Bertulucci, could benefit them. He has already done business with the club, with Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo moving to the French city.

Bruno Guimaraes joined Newcastle from Lyon in January 2022 following two successful years with the French club. He is a key player for Eddie Howe’s Magpies, having appeared in 28 games across all competitions this season, scoring one goal.

The defensive midfielder will most likely play when Newcastle face local rivals Sunderland in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, while PSG may try to entice him back to Ligue 1 by holding negotiations with Newcastle.
