Lewis Hall, a Chelsea loanee, is expected to permanently join Newcastle United this summer after

the Magpies’ 4-0 thumping of the Blues’ London rivals Tottenham at St. James’ Park this afternoon.

The 19-year-old left-back first rose through the ranks at Stamford Bridge in the closing weeks of the disastrous season prior.

Club legend and interim manager Frank Lampard gave him opportunities to showcase his skills,

and he started each of the final four Premier League games,

which helped him win the team’s Academy Player of the Year award.

But after current Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino arrived,

it appeared that Hall was no longer needed, as Ben Chilwell, Marc Cucurella,

and temporary full-back Levi Colwill were ranked ahead of him in the starting lineup.

As a result, Eddie Howe’s team agreed to a contract that included a buyout clause,

and he was moved on loan up north. This move was quickly noticed by many supporters.

However, since August, when his loan move began,

Hall has only started six occasions under Howe, totaling just 308 league minutes behind players like Tino Livramento and Dan Burn.

In spite of this, Howe has been candid about the child’s development at

St. James’ Park in recent months and has already raised the possibility that the star may make a permanent move.
