Alan Shearer made a joke about Leicester City’s team ‘being spanked every week’ after the team was promoted to the Premier League.

Officially, City’s tenure in the English football second division will only last a year. This was confirmed last Friday night when Queens Park Rangers defeated promotion-challenger Leeds United 4-0.

The Foxes won the Championship title at Preston in grand fashion on Monday night when it was finally their turn to play.

The fans at King Power Stadium, notably pundit Gary Lineker, have been jubilant about these happenings.

The former striker for the team made sure to have the final say in this week’s recording of The Rest is Football. It was done before the game at Deepdale.
