Peter Drury takes huge swipe at Nottingham Forest and Mark Clattenburg during Man City defeat

During the City Ground loss to Manchester City, pundit Peter Drury of Sky Sports made fun of Nottingham Forest and their referee consultant Mark Clattenburg.

The stadium’s cameras panned toward the directors’ box throughout the first half. First, they choose Reds great John McGovern over Clattenburg, who has been advising the team on rules.

Drury used the chance to poke fun at Forest for their ongoing grievances with the Premier League and PGMOL, as the coverage featured both men. “Well, Mark Clattenburg has made a headline or two this week,” he stated.

“An exceptional Premier League referee during his tenure, who, like all of them, occasionally erred. And then there’s the legendary John McGovern, who played for this incredible football team in a time when the referee was infallible.”

Since then, the Premier League has expressed disapproval of these claims and declared that the tweet was the subject of an inquiry. During Sunday’s loss to City, Forest supporters made their opinions on the Premier League quite evident.

Prior to kickoff, both groups of fans were audibly booing the Premier League anthem. Forest supporters sent a strong message to the top division by yelling, “Premier League, corrupt as f***,” multiple times.
