The Brazil midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is purchasing a new home in the Northeast,

which is the clearest sign yet that he plans to stay at Newcastle for the upcoming campaign,

according to The Telegraph.

In recent months, Guimaraes has been strongly linked to moves to Rangers,

Manchester United, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 26-year-old’s contract includes a release clause of almost £100 million, but according to reports,

no serious bidders have expressed interest at that amount,

and there is growing hope he won’t go at the end of the season.

Any offer below the release clause will be turned down by Newcastle,

and the same will apply to any summer bids made for star striker Alexander Isak.

The manager of Newcastle, Eddie Howe,

has acknowledged that the team “aren’t in control” of Bruno Guimaraes’ future,

following rumours that the midfield player has a £100 million release clause that expires in a month.

The Brazilian’s clause only lasts for one month, from the last week of May to the last week of June,

according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano’s revelation on Thursday night.

This could entice teams like Rangers, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain,

who have all been linked to a move for the 26-year-old.

In response to a query concerning Guimaraes’ purported £100 million release clause,

which will expire at the end of June,

Howe said: “That was well-planned and structured by the club, in a sense that there’s a deadline.”

“Continuous speculating is unhealthy for both us and the gamer, so we don’t want it.

“It goes without saying that I want to center our squad on him and that we want to keep him.

He appears content and at ease, and his form has been excellent.

He’ll be planning for a hectic summer in which we aim to take the team, and he’ll play a significant role in it.

However, that is outside of our hands, so let’s see.”

The Magpies, who need to balance the books following a £400 million recruitment drive under the club’s Saudi-backed owners,

may have to sell one of their marquee names this summer in order to comply with Premier League profitability and sustainability standards.

That made for a tough January, and Howe is aware that the summer may present similar difficulties.

When asked if he was in a position to acquire great players off the shelf, Howe responded, “I don’t think we are in a position to do that where we sit right now, both in terms of wages and transfer fees.”

“We must sign and develop the players. Again we need to sign athletes that have the ability to play at the highest level.

We are almost there, in my opinion, with a few guys already.

“It doesn’t mean you can’t have them existing in your squad. It means you have to work really hard with them.

That is what we’ve always done, so I have no issue doing it.”
