Philippe Clement frustrated as Ridvan Yilmaz quit Rangers

‘It’s a worry’ – Pundit concerned as Rangers starter could leave with Philippe Clement frustrated

Despite being the starting left back, Ridvan Yilmaz may quit Rangers in the summer

because the manager and his staff find his injury problems to be extremely “frustrating,” according to Derek Ferguson.

After a January transfer season filled with exit rumors,

the Light Blues apparently made the decision to stick onto the Turkish international

after learning that Borna Barisic was expected to depart Trabzonspor at the end of his contract.

However, Yilmaz sustained a further injury while traveling with Turkey for the international break last month,

and despite expectations that he may be back a few weeks ago to play Celtic at Ibrox, he hasn’t yet returned to first team action.

Given that Philippe Clement cannot depend on the 22-year-old,

Ferguson thinks Rangers should be concerned about the fitness concerns.

If a reasonable offer is made, Ferguson feels the player will likely move in the summer.

“I think he could go if a club comes in and they’re willing to pay the money,” he exclusively told Ibrox News.

The fact that he plays four or five games, starts to look the part,

and then gets hurt all of a sudden must be irritating for the manager and coaching staff, in my opinion.

“A modern player needs to be able to produce at least 35–40 games per season, especially if they are on the Rangers

If you are only going to play 10-15 games per season, you are of little use.

Thus, that’s something to think about and cause for concern.

He’s demonstrated enough that he can benefit us, but he still has to address his fitness issues.

“I know he was away with the national side when he discovered it, but it’s still a concern for me, so it is.”

Just two months ago, Yilmaz’s establishment as the undisputed starter, Barisic’s impending departure,

and the verbal agreement to bring Jefte in the summer seemed to have

finally put an end to the Light Blues’ long-standing problems at left-back.

However, it appears that they may have reverted to the beginning,

as the departure of the Croatian is proceeding despite fresh skepticism on the Turk’s capacity to maintain the role,

and the anticipated newcomer is being questioned.

Since Yilmaz’s recent untimely absence has resulted in Celtic regaining the lead in the title,

it appears highly likely that Clement will stick with his willingness to allow Yilmaz go in the winter transfer window for the correct money.

In other Rangers news, following an incredible comeback, the Light Blues will undoubtedly

earn some additional cash.
