The potential owners of Everton, 777Partners, made an emergency £16 million payment today to allow the team

to pay the salaries for the upcoming month.

There are worries that Everton would not be able to pay all of its employees’ salaries after Mail Sport discovered

that the most recent cash tranche from the Miami-based private equity group was supposed to be received at

Goodison Park last Friday but was still not received this morning.

Although there haven’t been any unpaid salaries from the club to external contractors like Laing O’Rourke,

Everton insiders informed Mail Sport that there were legitimate worries at the team earlier this week.

The £16 million infusion was confirmed by sources at 777 after a delay caused by negotiations between the two

parties about the amount of money Everton needed to finish the season.

With this most recent payment, 777 has funded Everton for more than £200 million since Farhad Moshiri

accepted their takeover offer in September of last year. However, the ongoing drama is still unclear because the

US company has not yet met the Premier League’s financial requirements for approval.

On yet another remarkable day, it was revealed that Everton had hired Teneo, insolvency advisors,

to assist them in their search for new financial sponsors. Meanwhile, the PR division of the same firm had

ceased operations for 777 due to nonpayment for work completed during the preceding seven months.

A related and noteworthy event is that earlier today, an Australian low-cost airline controlled by 777

unexpectedly ceased operations due to financial difficulties, adding to the growing doubts regarding the

business’s survival.

Tim Jordan, the CEO of Bonza Aviation, stated in an internal memo that the aircraft leasing business was

taking over control of the company’s fleet at three in the morning on Tuesday.

“Talks about the business’s viability are underway,” Jordan stated.

777 said that she would not comment.
