An 18-goal striker has “hugely impressed” West Ham United officials, who are now hoping to recruit him this summer as David Moyes’ team looks to add another player.

In the next months, as Moyes approaches the June 30 expiration of his Hammers contract, the uncertainty surrounding his future is sure to be a hot topic of conversation.

West Ham and Steidten, however, are rumored to be working on transfer plans in the interim, which may happen with or without Moyes leading the team come season-opening.

This season, there have been moments of concern regarding the Irons defense, with Nayef Aguerd drawing flak for some of his performances with Kurt Zouma. The team will eventually require additional choices. While Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen are clearly West Ham’s best offensive options, their lack of quality backup would be a major problem if one of the top players were to suffer an injury.

Because of this, it’s said that West Ham is eager to recruit a new forward this summer, and Bowen’s ascent since joining from Hull City suggests that the Championship may be a good place for them to find potential. This is where Crysencio Summerville, a star for Leeds United, piques their interest.

HITC reports that Summerville has “hugely impressed” West Ham officials despite having scored 18 goals and provided nine assists throughout all competitions this season.

For months now, Steidten and company have been scouting the winger, and they are among the numerous elite teams hoping to recruit him for the upcoming campaign. Summerville has received a ton of praise in 2023–2024; Leeds manager Daniel Farke is a huge fan of Summerville.

“You have to be on it each and every day on the training pitch but also with good habits in nutrition, sleep and recovery. We don’t have to speak about the potential of Cree, the sky is the limit with his potential but to show consistency this is crucial. It’s no coincidence he has delivered many end products.”
