David Moyes confirms Newcastle united £70m bid for Lucas Paqueta accepted in summer exist, to reunite with Bruno Guimaraes

David Moyes, who confirmed that Manchester City had received a £70 million bid from the Premier League winners,

claims that the club has not yet reached their valuation for Lucas Paqueta.

This week, MailOnline disclosed that Paqueta’s contract had an £85 million release clause that will expire in the summer,

and that West Ham promptly turned down City’s initial bid, which was significantly less than that amount.

Although Moyes stated at his news conference on Friday that “we’ve had an offer from City but at the moment,

it’s nowhere near meeting our valuation,” Paqueta is interested in the move.Como Paquetá 'frustrou' sonho de Bruno Guimarães e agora pode ser incomodo do Newcastle

Paqueta is expected to play for West Ham on Saturday when they play Bournemouth in their Premier League opener.

He played a pivotal role in the Hammers’ victory in the Europa Conference League final in Prague the previous season.

After that victory, West Ham traded Declan Rice for £105 million and focused on bringing in more players.

This week, on Match Day, Mail Sport, in collaboration with Sky Bet, is unveiling a brand-new 16-page sports pull-out in the Daily Mail. You can read it all on MailOnline.

They have signed Edson Alvarez for £35 million from Ajax and are about to announce the £30 million signing of James Ward-Prowse from Southampton,

but they will now have to struggle to hold onto Paqueta should City return with a better bid of their own.

Moyes is still trying to persuade Harry Maguire to join West Ham, even after Manchester United and the club agreed on a £30 million cost.

“Hopefully it will be like buses now and we’ll get another few coming in,” Moyes stated in reference to Alvarez.

He is not able to come this week. Ward-Prowse is now undergoing medical examination with us.

Despite the fact that Paqueta has an £85 million release clause next summer,

West Ham feels like they are in a strong position because of his contract, which runs until 2027.
