OFFICIAL: Newcastle announce Eddie Howe sacked by mutual consent

Bruce has been in charge for just over two years, but the club’s new owners feel a change is necessary because Newcastle is in the relegation zone and hasn’t won a game this season.

Newcastle:Steve Bruce resigned as head coach by mutual accord, Newcastle can reveal.

The club would like to officially thank Steve for his work and extend its best wishes for his future.

Beginning with the team’s trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday, Graeme Jones will serve as interim manager.

The coaching staff of Ben Dawson, Simon Smith, Steve Agnew, and Stephen Clemence will assist him.
