EXPERT VIEW : Jhon Duran handed exit ultimatum by Unai Emery after recent Aston Villa decision

Bryan King believes Unai Emery would have offered Jhon Duran an exit ultimatum at Aston Villa after agreeing to extend his time in charge of the club.

The former Villa scout believes that Duran will be sold if Emery decides the striker has no place at Villa Park.

This week, news broke that Emery’s Villa contract had been extended for an additional year, till 2027.

Furthermore, King, who made this statement exclusively to Villa News, thinks Duran has to reflect since the 52-year-old plans to remain in his current position.

King claimed that Duran had been informed by Emery and the team that he would either have to buckle down or be traded this summer.

He won’t be able to participate every week because there are only eleven spots available on a team.

“However, if a manager and a player have a falling out, for example, there will only ever be one winner, and I can assure you that it will not be the player.

“He will be moved on if Emery wants him to, and rightfully so.”

Ever since moving to the Premier League, Duran has had trouble playing minutes.

Emery hasn’t given the 20-year-old many chances to show off his skills, therefore Duran might be inclined to leave Villa.

However, because the team appears to be improving, the forward would be best served by attempting to impress Emery the next year and establish himself as a vital component of the Villa Park project.

In other Aston Villa news, King revealed that Emery was considering leaving amid interest from Bayern Munich.
