JUST IN: Son Heung-min finally makes a career decision to leave spurs.

Son Heung-min, a forward for Tottenham Hotspur, has a contract expiring in the summer and could leave on a free transfer.

However, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed to GIVEMESPORT that there is a

strong likelihood that the South Korean international will stay at the team, with the player being fully committed to Spurs.

Since his arrival, Son has been a vital member of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium team,

and the north London team will surely be eager to have him around.

Since Hugo Lloris left the team, the former Bayer Leverkusen player has assumed the role of club captain,

therefore his impact is felt both on and off the field.

The 31-year-old has attracted interest in recent years, but so far Spurs have managed to fend off any interest.

With Harry Kane leaving the club in the summer, Son has taken on more responsibility in attack and is more influential than ever.

Tottenham Stepping Up Contract Talks With Son

Tottenham is prepared to intensify its contract negotiations with Son, which have been going on since last summer, according to HITC. With the clock running out on the South Korean forward’s contract, the Lilywhites will be anxious to move the negotiations along and get him to sign a new agreement.

Son, who currently plays for Spurs and makes a nice £190k a week, has a contract that expires in the summer of 2019. Tottenham may need to think about cashing in during the summer transfer window if they can’t persuade Son to sign a contract, or else they run the chance of him leaving on a free transfer in 2025.

Saudi Arabia has expressed interest in the Spurs striker,

but Son has hinted that he has offers to leave and that he wouldn’t be playing in

England right now if he wanted to move to the Middle East in the summer.

“I wouldn’t be here if I wanted to travel to Saudi Arabia.

Although money is undoubtedly essential, I adore playing football, and my goal is to play in the Premier League.”

Ange Postecoglou would suffer greatly if Son were to go, thus the club will probably give priority to having him stay longer.

The offensive sensation may still be the subject of summer transfer rumors,

but the North London team is sure he won’t be leaving after previously declining offers from Saudi Arabia.

Ben Jacobs – Son 100% Committed to Tottenham

Jacobs has suggested that Son, who has been labelled as ‘outstanding’ by Postecoglou,

is 100% committed to Tottenham and the Lilywhites are confident he will stay.

The 31-year-old might use interest from Saudi Arabia as leverage to get a better deal from Spurs.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jacobs said…

“The summer is going to be quite useful I would have thought to Son,

if he does want to start contract negotiations with Spurs, due to the fact that Saudi clubs will almost certainly try.

Even if it’s believed that there’s a high confidence that he’ll remain at Spurs.

But if that offer is tabled, you can use that as leverage, which is naturally very helpful.

I know that Victor Osimhen, when he had three offers from Saudi Arabia that just kept going up and up and up,

was also able to use that as leverage to get his extension package at Napoli.

So Son will have some suitors but there’s no suggestion at this point that he’s anything other than 100% committed to Spurs.”

Spurs Could Move for Ivan Toney This Summer

Although Son, Richarlison, and Timo Werner have all been used as center forwards at various points this season,

none of them are regarded as natural strikers. In order to finally replace Kane,

who joined Bayern Munich in 2023,

Postecoglou and his hiring team may be looking for a new number nine during the summer transfer window.

GIVEMESPORT sources claim that Spurs are still keeping an eye on Ivan Toney’s position at Brentford.

The North London club believes that Postecoglou would be a suitable fit for the England international,

and they may be ready to start talks when the transfer window opens later this year.
