Rangers transfer news as John Lundstram four-year contract update emerges

Gers midfielder John Lundstram has signed a preliminary deal with Trabzonspor ahead of a summer transfer, according to Fotomac.

The Turkish newspaper said in its print version on April 27 (page 4) that the English midfielder will sign a four-year contract when his contract at Ibrox expires.

The 30-year-old will sign a three-year contract with an option for an additional year.

John Lundstram will play the final few games for Rangers.

Initially, it appeared that it would be a two-year contract with an option for another, but this is a longer commitment than anticipated.

Lundstram has been a first-team regular for Rangers this season, but he has showed little interest in continuing.

With his departure, Gers may reallocate the wages that would have gone towards his contract renewal to invest in a new midfielder, potentially bringing fresh talent and vitality to the team.

Exploring the free agency market could provide them with a low-cost way to enhance their midfield, allowing them to compete while staying within their budget.

Furthermore, a new addition could reenergize the team’s dynamics and fill any tactical holes,

potentially leading to better performances and outcomes in the coming seasons.

Talks about potential signings have already begun, and Philippe Clement will almost probably want a successor for Lundstram through the door.
