Celtic Football Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as Football Manager.

Ange joins Celtic from Yokohama F. Marinos, where he won the Japanese League title.

Previously, he won Premiership and Championship titles in Australia’s A League.

As Head Coach of the Australian National Team, Ange won the Asian Cup for the first time in 2015.

Ange also managed the Australian national team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil,

and he led them to qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Ange, a modern, progressive coach with a dynamic, attacking football mentality,

has garnered numerous top coaching awards, including Australia’s PFA Manager of the Decade in 2015.

Ange has successfully obtained UEFA recognition and endorsement for his Pro-Licence provided by Football Australia.

He begins work immediately and will arrive in Glasgow as soon as current protocols permit.

Ange will meet with the group at Lennoxtown and then take them to the Club’s pre-season training camp.

Ange is thrilled to join the Club and take on one of the most important jobs in world football,

and after signing a 12-month rolling contract, he stated:

and the responsibility to lead our magnificent football club into the future is one that I will cherish dearly.

“There is no doubt that Celtic is one of THE names in world football – a giant of a club, a legitimate footballing institution,

and so much more – with real history, depth, authenticity, and character.

I know Celtic is a true way of life for so many people, and I know the demands that come with this role;am prepared to do all I can to meet those demands.

“I will do all in my power to restore our wonderful club to its former glory while also providing the type of football that our fans value.

We want to delight our supporters and win; these are the goals I’ve always set for myself and will now work towards.

“When you think of Celtic, you think of supporters, and my hope is to see our fans return to Celtic Park as soon as possible.

We’re all hoping that things are improving and that we can see our fans soon because they’re so important to everything I do.

We need our fans back by our side, and I can’t wait to have them back in a packed Paradise.

“I’ve already had terrific discussions with Peter, Dom, and the Board about their ideas and strategies for the club’s future.

I know the Club’s new modern vision is quite similar to mine, and we are now looking to deliver on it.

In all we do, we want to provide our supporters with a successful, high-quality team that they can be thrilled about and proud of.

“We have already began work on our ambitions to add to the squad;

we want to bring exceptional players to Celtic to complement the existing core of top talent.

“I am looking forward to meeting with the players when they return from the close season break, and I can’t wait to begin

Outgoing Celtic CEO Peter Lawwell added: “Ange is a manager we’ve heard about for a few years and has been on our radar for a while.

“He is an excellent coach with attractive, winning football in his DNA. He has a fantastic track record,

a strong personality, and a genuine drive and enthusiasm to move Celtic ahead.

“I wish Ange and Dominic all the very best for the future and

I am sure they will work towards delivering great success to the Club and our supporters.”

Incoming Celtic Chief Executive Dominic McKay said,

“I am delighted we have been able to secure Ange as the new Celtic Football Manager.”

“In all of our meetings, I’ve been very impressed by Ange and his shared vision of working with me to improve and expand the Club,

with the goal of restoring continuous success.

“I believe he has the coaching and management credentials to be a big success at Celtic,

and we are already working closely together on our plans for the current season and future seasons.

“Throughout our meetings, I was struck by Ange’s love for Celtic and his strong feelings for Celtic;

he is extremely driven by this chance, honoured to be Celtic Manager, and keen to contribute to the Club’s future success.

“Our discussions have also highlighted his tremendous vision for the club. He aspires to play football in the style that all Celtic fans enjoy.

“Ange is also highly well-connected in worldwide football,

which I am confident we will benefit from. He has a modern view and shares my aim to positively evolve the Club in the next seasons.

“More importantly, we feel he possesses the attitude and character strength required to oversee a club the size and stature of Celtic.

Chairman Ian Bankier also welcomed Ange to the club, stating,
