Rod Stewart turns Celtic transfer guru as he identifies ‘young kid’ from Premiership rivals who MUST be had

The Hoops’ diehard was speaking as Brendan Rodgers’ side prepare to face Dundee this weekend.

Sir Rod Stewart acknowledged this weekend that Tony Docherty’s team “could be a problem”

and urged Celtic to raid Dundee of Luke McCowan this summer.

Brendan Rodgers’ team returns to league action on Sunday as they visit Dens Park for the first of two post-split games.

Last weekend, they defeated Aberdeen on penalties to go to the Scottish Cup final.

Stewart, a devoted supporter of Celtic, is not taking anything for granted heading into the last stretch,

even though the Hoops lead Rangers by three points going into the break in the Scottish Premiership.

A reluctant Stewart discussed the matchup with Dundee with Alan Brazil on talkSPORT before suggesting that Celtic Park officials try to sign 26-year-old McCowan.

The rocker remarked, “The problem is that we can’t take our foot off the pedal.

Dundee can provide an issue. McCowan, have you seen this little child? He is a Dundee player.

Whoa. He’s amazing, maybe Celtic has their eye on him.”

“To be honest, I felt sorry for the Aberdeen fans because they deserved a little bit more.

They were excellent, and if they can maintain that level of play next season, they should be among the top four teams.”
