Ipswich Town and Hull City will square off in the Championship on Saturday night at the MKM Stadium with
both teams vying for a berth in the Premier League following the current season.
With a thrilling victory against Coventry City on Wednesday, the Tigers maintained their hopes of finishing in
the top six, while the Tractor Boys, who are vying for promotion, were given a two-week break after their 1-1
draw with Middlesbrough.
Hull City traveled to the West Midlands on Wednesday night to play Coventry, a team still reeling from their
devastating FA Cup semi-final loss four days earlier. The playoff-chasing Tigers prevailed in a thrilling five-goal
match. This victory took Hull City’s unbeaten run in the Championship to five games.
After being held back by the efforts of Bobby Thomas and Kasey Palmer, Liam Rosenior’s team took the lead
twice in the first half thanks to goals from Jaden Philogene and Liverpool loanee Fabio Carvalho.
But in the last fifteen minutes, substitute Noah Ohio gave the visitors the victory.
As the season comes to an end, Hull has maintained a slim lead over the playoffs thanks to their 11 points from
their last five Championship games. This Saturday’s hosts are currently in seventh place, three points behind
Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
