Leeds United battling Leicester City to sign ‘astonishing’ Bundesliga champion for just £10m

If Daniel Farke’s team is promoted to the Premier League this season on their first attempt, they will probably need more firepower. Leeds has two games remaining and is presently ranked second.

Despite rarely scoring a goal, Patrick Bamford is the starting lineup. The former England player lost his spot in the starting lineup to Joel Piroe, the striker, and only started games after the new year.

But in the last few weeks and months, Piroe has barely appeared like a £16 million player; instead, Bamford has emerged as Farke’s primary choice. Mateo Joseph appears to be a promising young player, and Georgi Rutter is performing at a level 10.

Leeds has entered the battle for Adam Hlozek, the “astonishing” talent of Bayer Leverkusen, since they need a more consistent goal source if they are promoted. Leeds wants the forward, according to AS Roma Live.

But, Leicester is reportedly eager to get Hlozek as well, so the Yorkshire team is not the only one in the battle to sign the Czech Republic star before the summer transfer market opens.

Hlozek is being pursued by more than just the two Championship promotion candidates. Roma and Lazio of Serie A are also interested in signing the Czech star, with Leverkusen asking for a meager £10 million.

This season, Hlozek has performed admirably for Xabi Alonso’s Bundesliga winners, despite starting just nine of 32 games. With seven goals and two assists, the gifted player has kept Leverkusen undefeated.

Hlozek might believe he needs to leave the German powerhouses for regular playing time, even though Leverkusen is in the Champions League and headed for an incredible triple. There are plans to relocate to England or Italy.
