Daniel Farke’s team was hoping to capitalise on their thrilling 4-2 triumph over Middlesbrough,

but in the eighth minute, Ilias Chair’s deflected strike into the bottom corner put them ahead.

After a prolonged period of pressure, Lucas Andersen sent a shot into the net from a tight angle,

giving the R’s a 14-minute lead that they increased.

Leeds, who managed just two efforts on goal in the first half, looked awful. However, they started the second half stronger. But with 73 minutes remaining, Lyndon Dykes was able to take advantage of a corner that Illan Meslier was unable to turn, adding a third.

With four minutes remaining, Sam Field headed Chair’s cross past Meslier’s gloves to seal the victory

for the home team and hand the visitors their worst loss of the year.

As a result of the outcome, QPR has guaranteed their safety, and Leicester has sealed their

promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt. If the Foxes defeat Preston North End

on Monday night and Ipswich loses to Hull City the following night, they will also be the champions.

Conversely, Ipswich must secure five points from their remaining three games in order to guarantee their spot in the Premier League. They will be promoted on Tuesday night at the CBS Arena if they

defeat Hull and Coventry City.

Leicester P44 94 points, Leeds P45 90 points, Ipswich P43 89 points, and Southampton P44 84

points are now at the top of the Championship standings.
