According to transfer source Dean Jones, Leicester City may lose forward Kelechi Iheanacho during the 2024 summer transfer window at the King Power Stadium as he considers his future options.

Under Enzo Maresca’s leadership, the Foxes want to make an immediate return to the Premier League in the following weeks.

Although Leicester had led the Championship for the majority of the 2023-24 season,

their promotion remains uncertain heading into the season’s final games due to a recent drop in their performance.

Iheanacho’s contract expires this summer, and given his poor performance, he may look for another team to play for.

In anticipation of a probable transfer this summer, Iheanacho would have anticipated that Leicester’s relegation to the Championship would provide him the opportunity to establish himself as one of the best scorers in the second tier.

The King Power Stadium star, whose contract pays £80,000 per week, will look for other chances as it expires in June.

However, Iheanacho was not given the opportunity to prove himself after returning to the second level.

In 25 appearances this season, the 27-year-old has only managed six goals and three assists, starting only 23% of Championship games.

Given that talkSPORT claims Crystal Palace is interested in signing the former Manchester City youth product on a free transfer,

it appears unlikely that Leicester would extend his contract with him this summer.
