Daizen Maeda was not seen at Celtic training today, despite the fact that the Bhoys play Dundee in the Scottish Premiership this weekend.

Maeda was supposed to miss the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury, but it has lately been reported that he is on his way back.

The Japanese forward is said to have responded well to hamstring therapy and might return to boost Brendan Rodgers’ options soon.

The weekend showdown, however, is too soon for Maeda, and the attacker was not present at Celtic training today.

Celtic are expected to take their time with Maeda’s return from a hamstring injury, with the goal of getting him ready for the end of the season.

Rodgers is set to take his team to Dens Park to face Dundee this weekend, and he is unlikely to hurry Maeda back for the game.

Subsequent games against Hearts and then championship challengers Rangers may be more on Celtic’s radar in order to get Maeda back.

This season, Maeda has made 32 appearances for Celtic in all competitions, scoring nine goals.
