A host of Premier League clubs are keen on picking up Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi on a free transfer this summer.

While Leicester City is vying for automatic promotion,

Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi may be leaving the team this summer since his contract is up and several other teams are interested in signing him.

Ndidi is an important player for the Foxes, who gave up the top spot in the league during his absence.

They had only managed four points from their previous five league games,

which included a run of three straight losses, meaning their lead had been wiped out.

It comes as no surprise that they have improved in the weeks following his return to the team,

winning their previous two matches against Southampton and West Brom

and appearing quite certain to return to the top division right away, with Ndidi scoring in both of those contests.

The goal has been promotion the entire season,

even though several of Leicester’s best players left the King Power Stadium during the summer transfer window.

Two players in particular, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison, were expected to leave the team.

But they also kept a lot of Premier League players, including Ndidi,

who had played a significant role in some of their most successful teams in the league’s history.

The 27-year-old, who cost approximately £17 million when he joined Leicester in 2017, came from Belgian team Genk.

He has played 271 games for the Foxes so far, and only a few months remain on his contract.

In addition to a number of Premier League teams who were apparently interested in signing the midfielder earlier in the month,

it is stated that Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray is looking to take advantage of the player’s contract issue.

There have been new claims tying him to other teams. Barcelona is reportedly looking to add players to their midfield,

and Jorginho of Arsenal and Ndidi of Leicester are two of their top targets.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona won’t have much money to

spend this summer unless they part ways with a number of players due to their own financial problems.

With that stated, TBRfootball writes that Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brentford, Crystal Palace,

and Fulham have all been connected to the Leicester star and are all reportedly keeping an eye on his status.

As Ndidi’s current contract is set to expire this summer,

the source clarifies that the Championship promotion favorites are still in the process of making an offer to Ndidi.

They assert that while profit and sustainability are still factors for many teams,

Leicester may find it challenging to hold onto an experienced midfield player of Premier League caliber if they are able to sign him for nothing.
