Jamaica’s Kingston Just over a month after declaring he would

be taking a sabbatical from the team, Michael Ricketts, President

of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF),

claims he has not yet spoken with star forward Leon Bailey

on his return to the Reggae Boyz setup.

Due to his breach of curfew during camp during the November international window,

Aston Villa forward Heimir Hallgrimsson,

The head coach of the senior men’s national team,

suspended him for the Concacaf Nations League finals.

Bailey later attacked the JFF for a number of problems he had

and claimed he had always thought about leaving

the squad because he had “too much on my plate” in a widely shared interview with Jamaican content creator Jaii Frais.

Though he hasn’t contacted Bailey yet, Ricketts is hopeful that the problems with her will be rectified quickly.

“To tell the truth, no—we haven’t talked,” he said to Observer Online.

“But maybe we can connect in some way and figure out a peaceful way

to resolve any issues Leon might have.”

is maybe enjoying the best season of his professional career with Aston Villa.

Villa is presently in the semi-finals of the UEFA Conference League and is expected to place among the top four teams in the English Premier League.
