Scotland would be a perfect stepping stone to eventually make the move to the Premier League,

but former England international Carlton Palmer believes Patterson may need to pay a large sum of up to £20 million.

“So many of the Sunderland young players are linked with moves away from the club,” Palmer said to Football League World.

It’s clear that this season has been disappointing. They had high hopes for this season’s play-offs, but that has not happened. Their goalkeeper, Anthony Patterson, has been a reliable player for the team and was mentioned frequently both at Christmas and last summer.

“Brendan Rodgers is an excellent manager at Celtic, and they play European football. They are a huge, powerful team.” It goes without saying that you would be unable to refuse it. Anthony Patterson might leave Sunderland to play in the Scottish Premiership, and if he is still young enough, he could return to the Premier League. Celtic would have to pay the best part of £15–20 million for Patterson.

“If he is available, I think there will be a few clubs in the Premier League who will be looking to take him on a permanent basis. A very, very talented goalkeeper.”
