POINTS DEDUCTION: Forest Appeal Outcome on Four-Points Deduction Revealed – Changes updated.

Keith Wyness, the former head coach of Everton,

thinks the four-point deduction for Nottingham Forest won’t be altered.

The 66-year-old, who ran a football consultancy advising elite teams after serving as CEO at Goodison Park from 2004 to 2009,

stated that Forest’s punishment will not change even if they file an appeal on

the most recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Due to a violation of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) of the Premier League,

Nottingham was fined four points.

There is presently an appeal of the verdict, but Wyness thinks the City Ground appeal will fail.

A point above the relegation zone, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is now positioned in 17th place in the Premier League standings.

For similar infractions this season, their relegation opponents Everton have already lost eight points; their second punishment of two points is presently on appeal after their first punishment of ten points was lowered to six on appeal.

“I think it is going to stay as it is,” he told the Inside Track podcast. “ it is going to be a bit of a stalemate, the points will stay.

“I don’t see their arguments being strong enough to get either one point back or anything else. But again it will open up another 50-page situation where there will be more different loopholes or different legal points, disagreeing with previous commissions.

“So all it will do is start to build this cottage industry now of lawyers who can appeal, and are now getting more and more precedence to argue.”
